Harry Kunz and Karin Traub have always been "at home" for any injured or orphaned native wildlife ... so it was only a matter of time before their Eagles Nest home in Ravenshoe became one of North Queensland's official wildlife organisations, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of native wildlife, while continuing to support and encourage conservation through education and research.
As well as injured and orphaned wildlife, Eagles Nest is also home during the day to a passing parade of human helpers, volunteers, woofers, researchers and scientists who give their time and talents to make a difference.
At night, however, Eagles Nest returns to being the home of Harry and Karin and their wildlife in care. The land comes alive with Australia's noctural wildlife.
Eagles Nest are a non-profit, volunteer organisation and Harry Kunz holds the following QPWS/EPA Licenses to care for native wildlife:
Rescue Permit: WIRP01244103
Rehabilitation Permit: WIRP01923504
Permit to keep wildlife: WIKW01271103
Education Permit: WIEP01414703
If you would like to join us you are welcome to help us make a difference to conserve Australia's unique wildlife.
