Sue Bagust has 30 years experience as an advertising copywriter. She completed the Advertising certificate course at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1976 and was subsequently the first trainee accepted by Ogilvy and Mather International as part of their Australian copywriter development program.

In 1980, Sue established Wordsmith, a freelance advertising and public relations business offering copywriting skills for corporate, retail, real estate, direct mail and recruitment clients. As well as writing print, radio and television commercials, she developed incentive programs for use as an external or in-house marketing tool and planned public relations programs, including writing editorials and press releases.

Wordsmith clients included AAF Computers, ACM Promotions, Active Art Graphics, Adcorp Australia, Ad Factory at the Biltmore, Armstong’s NJ, Campaign Planning Activities, Hayes Cowcher Daily, MDA Mattingly, The Media Machine Network PR, Moffatt Sharp Advertising, Ogilvy & Mather Australia, The Pressure Point, The Production Group, Southbank Communications Group, Syntax Advertising, Tarrant Haysom and Manzie, USP Needham, VG&S Advertising and Marketing, and Visual Images.

In 1991, Sue moved to Townsville in North Queensland and worked in advertising sales for a local newspaper as well as freelancing for advertising agencies. In 1997 she started work at James Cook University, creating her first JCU website in 1998 for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. From 1998 to 2000, Sue was Director of the JCU branch of Siemens Science Experience, which offers a 3 day residential science program for secondary school students. JCU websites Sue has worked on since 2000 include Equal Opportunity, Halls of Residence and JCU Visitors.

Sue moved to Ravenshoe in 2004 and began Ideas Unlimited on the Tablelands in 2006. Recent clients include Alchemy, Roy's Welding, Eagles Nest and Sacred Flame.
